Beverly Hills, 90210 is being revived with a twist: many of the original cast members are returning, but they’ll be playing themselves.
Announced by Fox, this will be a six-episode event series, and will reunite cast members Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling. Notably, Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty have not been announced for the revival, which is scheduled to air in Summer 2019.
Written and executive produced by Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler, the show will feature the returning actors as “heightened versions” of themselves in an irreverent drama that is inspired by their real lives and relationships.

Barr had courted online controversy a number of times prior to ABC's revival of the hit sitcom Roseanne, but that didn't stop the show's new season from becoming a massive ratings smash. The show’s plot will follow the actors reuniting after the original 90210 ended 19 years ago, with one suggesting they do a reboot of the series. “What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast – whom the whole world watched grow up together – attempts to continue from where they left off?”
“Beverly Hills, 90210 left an indelible impact on pop culture and an entire generation,” said FOX Entertainment president Michael Thorn. “Its powerful legacy is an important part of our network’s DNA – bold stories not told anywhere else and bigger-than-life-characters – and we’re honored to bring back the beloved original cast members for 90210.”
Beverly Hills, 90210 debuted in 1990, spanning 10 seasons. Following two spinoff series, Melrose Place and Models Inc., a successor simply titled 90210 ran for five seasons on CBS from 2008-2013.
