Rock Gold-Waye (18U), Texas Glory-Naudin (16U) win 2018 USA Softball GOLD Nationals

PLANO, Texas — Rock Gold- Waye (18-Under) and Texas Glory- Naudin (16-Under) took home the 2018 USA Softball Division GOLD National Championships. 

The 16-Under division Championship game saw undefeated Texas Glory-Naudin 16U defeat Santa Fe Inferno- Lovett, 8-1. Glory was boosted by a five-run fifth inning, including a two-run homerun from Savanna DesRochers and a triple from Lauren Lucas. Taylor Snow pitched for Glory, striking out three and allowing five hits in her complete game outing. Santa Fe Inferno’s lone run came off a sacrifice fly from Nyah Morgan in the bottom of the sixth inning.  

Rock Gold-Waye (Pa.) took home the 18-Under division title, fighting its way through the loser’s bracket. Gold (pictured) won three straight elimination games, including the first championship matchup to force a championship “if” game against then-undefeated Team GA Henning. Gold topped Henning by identical 4-1 scores and finished the 2018 GOLD National Championships with an 8-2 overall record.
