Update On Rey Mysterio’s Injury Status
As we noted over the weekend, Rey Mysterio suffered what appeared to be a biceps injury at Northeast Wrestling’s Wrestlefest 2018 event in Waterbury, CT this past Friday night. Mysterio teamed up with Flip Gordon to defeat Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley, and in the final minutes of the bout suffered the injury.
According to PWInsider.com, Mysterio will be undergoing testing today to determine the severity of the injury, which appears to be a torn biceps. We will have more information on Mysterio’s status once he completes testing.
As noted, Mysterio is still scheduled to face Jushin Liger at the New Japan Pro Wrestling “Strong Style Evolved” event in Long Beach, CA on March 25th, however that match, and Mysterio’s immediate future, are now up in the air until he can have the severity of his injury evaluated.
