Sheamus & Cesaro’s Rumored Opponents at SummerSlam Are…

In recent weeks on Raw, we have been seeing glimpses of a Shield reunion on television. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have just buried the hatchet after feuding with each other for years, and the two of them have actually been working together in order to take care of The Miz, Curtis Axel, and Bo Dallas. Along with Roman Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose were part of The Shield, a faction that wreaked havoc in WWE from 2012 to 2014. The Shield ended surprisingly when Seth Rollins turned on his partners and aligned himself with The Authority. Each of the three members have achieved singles success and they have all been crowned WWE Champion since the split.
Despite their successes alone, WWE fans absolutely loved the old Shield faction, and they have been waiting for years now to know when they will be reuniting. It seems that we are now two-thirds of the way there! A new report from the Dirty Sheets Podcast reports that Rollins and Ambrose are set to team up once more at this year’s SummerSlam show. If the report is accurate, the current plan is for the two of them to face Sheamus & Cesaro for the WWE Tag Team Championships at the event. SummerSlam is building nicely thus far. These four men are sure to have a hard-hitting battle during the show and this could definitely be the match that ends up stealing the show.
The podcast also stated that the original plan for SummerSlam was to have Cesaro & Sheamus defend their titles against multiple other tag teams. However, the company decided to change the rumored Rollins vs. Ambrose vs. Miz triple threat match to a singles match with Jason Jordan taking on Miz for his Intercontinental Champinship. As a result, the company will be staying the course with the Shield reunion storyline. WWE has been splitting up tag teams left and right over the past couple of months now. Having a new team, even if we are still missing one member from it, certainly can’t hurt. Expect to see the buildup for this huge tag team match begin on television very soon.
