The former Blancos star says Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu makes it impossible to rule any transfer out
Real Madrid have been urged to favour a move for Kylian Mbappe in any raid they launch on Paris Saint-Germain, with Steve McManaman considering him to be a better recruit than Neymar.
The Blancos were in the market for the France international forward as he prepared to head for the exits at Monaco in 2017.
Mbappe shunned them on that occasion, but talk of a big-money move to Spain has rumbled on into subsequent transfer windows.
Madrid also continue to be heavily linked with a bid to bring former Barcelona star Neymar back to La Liga.
A formal approach for either of the PSG frontmen would require Real to dig deep in pursuit of another ‘Galactico’, but they do have funds available.
Pressed by Marca on which of the superstar strikers he would sign, former Blancos winger McManaman said: “Which would I prefer to play for Real Madrid right now? Mbappe.
“He’s younger, he’s 19 years old and I think that’s why you can teach him more, he would be easier to bring.”

PSG are likely to put up stubborn resistance to any efforts made to lure prized assets away from Parc des Princes.
Shock deals have become commonplace in recent windows, though, with Neymar’s €222 million (£196m/$255m) move to France having thrown the market wide open.
That deal was followed 12 months later by a stunning move from Madrid to Juventus for five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
McManaman believes that agreement proves that anything is possible, with there every reason to believe that Real could land Mbappe if they pushed hard enough.
He added: “Of course it’s possible, everything is possible right now.
“I didn’t think that they [PSG] would pay so much for Mbappe, but I didn’t think that Cristiano would leave Real Madrid either, but he has.”
