Stella McCartney Designer of the Year

London’s glitterati came out in force on Tuesday to attend the annual British Fashion Awards at Lawrence Hall. The accolade of Designer of the Year went to Stella McCartney, dubbed ‘Stellar’ by Hilary Alexander as she is only the 5th woman to win the award in over 20 years.

Vivienne Westwood recieved the Outstanding Achievement Award and the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator went to production and set designer Michael howells. Christopher Kane received the award for New Designer and Anya Hindmarch took the award for Best Designer Brand. The newly opened Marc Jacobs store was recognised as Best Retail Concept.

Sassy model Agyness Deyn won Model of the Year and later strutted her stuff on the dancefloor at hot new club Maya, which hosted the BFA after party. Other guests at the party included super stylist Katie Grand, singer Lilly Allen, Giles Deacon and Stuart Vevers.
