The Original Voice of Mulan Wants to Be in the Live-Action Remake

Disney is the animated-turned-live-action machine that keeps on giving, and we’re super excited for one of their next installments, a live-action Mulan. Not surprising at all, we’re not the only ones, as the original voice of Mulan is super stoked too, and she just might make an appearance in the film. Or at the very least, be involved in some way! TBH, that is exactly what she, and fans, want. Let’s get down to business and make this happen!

You probably know her best from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (or maybe even ER) but Ming-Na Wen is also the original voice of Mulan in the Disney classic that came out way back in 1998. There’s recently been a live-action Beauty and the Beast AND a live-action Jungle Book and—along with a handful of other announced movies—now we’re getting a new Mulan!

And apparently, Ming-Na has already been in discussions about the film. According to ComicBook.com, she said at a recent convention that she has been in contact with producers of the film about possibly appearing in it or being involved in some way:

“I’m hoping. I mean, I’ve spoken to one of the producers on the film, and they’re still in the very early stages of it. So, we’re keeping an eye on it, and hopefully, yeah, It would be lovely too, I think, for the fans as well as for myself, right?”

So nothing is set but it’s great to hear that Ming-Na has been in touch with the producers. We’d love to see her involved in the live-action Mulan movie which *fingers crossed* will be coming out Nov. 2, 2018. Until then, guess we’ll have to just keep training!
