A passenger had a narrow escape when he tried to alight from a moving train at Vidyavihar on Wednesday evening. He quickly moved away from the gap between the train and platform and was unhurt. It was later found that he was travelling without a ticket, for which he was fined.
The incident was reported on platform 2 of Vidyavihar station at 6.57pm on Wednesday. Vikas Gaud, a resident of Kamani in Kurla, was travelling in a CSMT-bound local.
While the train was leaving and had gathered speed, Gaud attempted to get off. He fell and landed on the platform quite close to the gap. CCTV cameras on the platform captured two RPF constables rushing to check on him.
