Triple H apologizes for 'terrible joke' he made about Paige

Paul “Triple H” Levesque has issued an apology for a “terrible joke” he made about Paige (Saraya Bevis) last week.

Levesque posted a tweet today saying that he’s apologized to Paige. He also wrote that he’s sorry if the joke offended anyone: “I’ve reached out to @RealPaigeWWE to apologize. I made a terrible joke and I’m sorry if it offended her or anyone else.”

While doing media for NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, Levesque was asked about speculation of Edge (Adam Copeland) and Paige potentially being able to return to the ring. During his answer, Levesque said “more importantly than that, though, I’d like to see them live long healthy lives. You know, Edge has kids. Paige — maybe — she probably has some she doesn’t know of.”

In response to the video of Levesque’s joke, Paige tweeted on Monday: “Even my boss jokes about me.. no wonder you guys still do it too.”

Paige was part of WWE’s media day in the United Kingdom today for their move to BT Sport. She told Sportskeeda that Levesque had reached out to her and they were going to be talking about some things.

“Obviously I was a little bit perplexed, a little bit taken back, because he’s someone that I truly look up to and he’s always been very respectful, so I just feel like he kinda got caught up, maybe, in a joke, but I just don’t think it was appropriate to joke about,” Paige said. “I don’t know, it’s just something that I’m not gonna continually keep talking about, because I feel like people on the internet have done a pretty good job of that.”
