•Top Stories of the Week

This week ROH and NJPW are putting on the co-branded War of the Worlds tour. See below for the up-to-date cards for each stop of the tour.
Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI), the parent company of Ring of Honor, agreed to a deal with Disney to acquire the current Fox Regional Sports Channels that Disney is unable to keep control of once their acquisition of Fox is complete. The deal is for a reported 10 Billion dollars. At the moment, it doesn’t appear that this news will affect ROH in a positive or negative way.

•Closing Commentary

I am not going to lie to you; I am in a bit of a slump in my wrestling fandom. At the moment, ROH is beyond lackluster from a fan perspective. Not to mention the near unwatchable WWE product, along with NJPW’s Super Junior Tournament (full disclosure, my least favorite New Japan tournament). This is always a tough time of the year.

The big build to Wrestle Kingdom in January and the build to WrestleMania (as well as every other US promotion’s biggest shows) in early April always lends itself to a less than desirable few weeks after.

All of that being said, I find this time of year to usually be a bit of a drag. Watching wrestling is never work, but I will be honest; there are weeks at a time where I will follow the product, but I choose to not watch anything wrestling related in order to reset my fanhood.

Do any of you have times of the year where you feel this way? Or am I the only one who has the unique perspective on this? If you feel the way I do, what do you do in the meantime? What brings you back into the fandom after a bit of a layoff?
