Four commit to Itasca Vikings

Joshua Holm a Grand Rapids two time state place winner has committed to wrestle for the Itasca Vikings next year. He signed a letter of intent to wrestle for the Vikings in the upcoming 2018-2019 wrestling season. Holm placed 6th as a junior at 120 pounds in AA and 5th as a senior at 126 pounds. His career record was a 109-26 while finishing his senior year 56-6. Holm was also a captain for the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks and a two-time section champion. Coach Wilkes said, “I’m very excited to have more local talent and leadership in the room.”

Larry Sanchez of Minneapolis Roosevelt has also committed to the Vikings. He was a two-time state entrant while attending Roosevelt and was 16-8 this year as a senior. Sanchez is aspiring to be a fireman someday and will be attending Itasca to complete his generals.

Devin Reynolds from Cloquet has also committed to attending Itasca Community College next year. He was a runner-up in 2017 at heavyweight and finished his senior year 38-4. Reynolds intends to wrestle at heavyweight next season.

Frendarious Willis from Coon Rapids has committed to not only wrestle but to also play football with the Itasca Vikings. Frandariou says, “Wrestling has always been a great outlet for me, and I’m going to continue that on to the next level.”
