For the first time since the angle where his eye was attacked by Seth Rollins last month, Rey Mysterio is set to make an in-person appearance on Raw.
WWE announced last night that Mysterio will appear on Raw next Monday. He’s been on the show via video each of the past three weeks.
Rollins invited Mysterio and his son Dominik to Raw last night to explain to them that the sacrifice of Mysterio’s eye was for the greater good. The story was that Dominik accepted Rollins’ invitation without telling his father about it in advance.
Mysterio appeared via video on last night’s show and interrupted a promo by Rollins. He warned Rollins not to do anything to Dominik. Rollins said he wanted to help Dominik and implored Mysterio to encourage Dominik to join Rollins, Murphy, and Austin Theory. Mysterio said Dominik would never join them under any circumstances.
Rollins told Mysterio that Murphy and Theory were looking for Dominik. Rollins said if Dominik isn’t going to be part of the solution, then he’s part of the problem and must be sacrificed.
Rollins said Dominik can stand by him and join his cause or make the same choice Mysterio made. Dominik then attacked Rollins from behind and threw him into the steel steps. Murphy and Theory came after Dominik, but he avoided them and got away.
Next week’s Raw will also feature two Tag Team title matches. The IIconics will challenge Bayley & Sasha Banks for the Women’s Tag Team titles, while The Street Profits will defend their Raw Tag Team titles against The Viking Raiders. Bayley & Banks are also defending their titles against Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart on this week’s NXT.
Next Monday’s Raw was supposed to be taped today, but that’s been postponed due to a WWE developmental talent testing positive for COVID-19. WWE is conducting COVID-19 testing today and plans to resume taping tomorrow.
