AJ Styles is currently in the midst of his second run as WWE Champion. He has already had a few successful defenses so far, but it looks like he will have at least one more defense to go through before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place. AJ Styles announced in a short video on WWE’s social media accounts that he will be putting the WWE Championship on the line in a Triple Threat Match at an upcoming live event in Tampa, Florida. Styles will be defending the title against Jinder Mahal and John Cena on the show on December 30th. The Triple Threat Match will likely be the final WWE world title defense to take place in 2017.
@ajstylesp1 has a message for @jindermahal and @johncena before #WWETampa THIS Saturday! Tickets are still available on WWE.com. You do NOT want to miss this! #JohnCena #AJStyles #Jindermahal #WWELive

Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan surprised fans on Raw this past Monday night when they won the Raw Tag Team Championships from Cesaro and Sheamus. It was only the first time that the two have teamed up together, so fans have wondered if the partnership will be long-term one. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer informed fans on Twitter that the partnership between Jordan and Rollins was done to fill a void left behind after Dean Ambrose got injured. The length of Jordan and Rollins’s alliance depends on how successful they both work together. In the meantime, it appears as though Jordan’s planned heel turn has been put on hold.
They had to change his story to fit a need right now. Long-term, it probably depends on how he gets over in the role. https://t.co/GdbrvrcxGH

It was reported yesterday that Impact Wrestling would be bringing back the Lockdown pay-per-view in 2018. The news comes after several years of airing the event on television as a special episode of Impact. Lockdown was one of Impact’s biggest pay-per-views of the year back when the company went under the TNA Wrestling moniker. In a new updated report, PWInsider discovered the date that the pay-per-view will be returning on. Lockdown will officially be coming back on April 22nd, 2018. The event is known for hosting every match in a steel cage, and that format will likely remain intact when it returns in 2018.
