Paige Discusses Her Previous Relationship with Alberto Del Rio

Paige returned to Raw after missing over a year of action due to injuries and personal issues in her life. For a while, it seemed as if Paige would never come back to WWE ever again, but she managed to overcome all of her issues when she returned to the ring last month as the leader of the Absolution stable with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. Paige recently discussed all that she has gone through over the past year in an interview on Lillian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast, and she revealed her past issues relating to injuries and drugs, but she also discussed her relationship that she had with current Impact Wrestling star Alberto El Patron (formerly Alberto Del Rio.)
Alberto Del Rio and Paige were one of the most controversial couples in all of pro wrestling during their time together. Whether it was reported stabbing incidents, drunken rants from the couple on Periscope, or issues between the two at the airport, the two were in the news for over a year due to their antics. The two have broken up and gotten back together numerous times in the past, but the relationship was reported to be finally over for good not long before Paige’s return to WWE. While on Garcia’s podcast, Paige finally discussed some of the stories that she and Alberto went through together, and she also revealed the reason why the couple decided to call it quits recently.
The former Diva’s Champion stated that the two still remain friends and that they do not have any animosity towards each other at all. Paige decided that she needed to reset her life and get back to WWE. The two sides apparently agreed that it would be best for everybody involved to go their separate ways in order to continue their careers. Paige’s father also informed his daughter that she could end up going down a path of destruction at a young age. like singer Amy Winehouse did, if she did not reevaluate her life. This message helped inspire Paige to make a decision. Paige has since returned to WWE while Alberto is now back in Impact Wrestling.
