Keith Lee appears ringside at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II

Tonight’s NXT TakeOver: Chicago II has captivated the entire sports-entertainment world, including, it appears, one of the most lauded super-heavyweight wrestlers.

Former independent wrestling champion Keith Lee was seen at ringside during tonight’s huge WWE Network special event in Chi-Town.

The 300-plus-pounder, who goes by the nickname “Limitless,” has captured many titles on the independent circuit. He was also spotted in a WWE ring in April, defending the World Wrestling Network Championship against NXT Superstar Kassius Ohno at WrestleMania Axxess in New Orleans.

Though there’s no word on what Lee’s ringside seat means for his future, the sighting has already sent waves through the NXT Universe.

In addition to hype from WWE, Lee received praise from a WWE Hall Of Famer after making his debut at Saturday night’s big NXT special.

“The Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley took to social media, tweeting out praise for Lee, after seeing his official NXT televised debut last night. Foley wrote, “I definitely see big things in Keith Lee’s future.”

Lee responded to Foley by writing, “Thank you very, very much Mick! Your words mean more than you know.”

The former independent wrestling sensation, who was scheduled to report to the WWE Performance Center training facility in Orlando, Florida this month to officially begin working for the company, also tweeted out a statement after making his official NXT debut this weekend.

“I believe my grandparents would have been proud,” wrote Lee after appearing ringside at Allstate Arena during the WWE Network live broadcast last night. “I believe my aunt would have been proud. My world seems proud.”

Lee continued, “I am at peace. And I am grateful. Looks like my little time off will be coming to an end sooner than later.”

The tweet ended with the hashtags, “#BaskInMyGlory #iAmLimitless.”
