Friday night’s WrestleMania edition of SmackDown, which featured go-home promos from all three wrestlers in Sunday’s main event as well as matches that essentially served as the Mania pre-show, averaged 2.25 million viewers on Fox.
The show trailed all network programming with the exception of a repeat of NBC’s The Blacklist in terms of overall viewers, but it was the highest total for SmackDown since March 10. It was up 5.3 percent from the previous week’s viewership.
In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown was up seven percent to a 0.61 rating. That was second on all of television behind ABC’s Shark Tank and was the best total for SmackDown in the key demo since February 10.
SmackDown drew the same 0.37 rating in the 18-34 demo as it did the previous week. SmackDown was third on television in 18-34, trailing The Masters Golf tournament on ESPN and Shark Tank.

As compared to the same week last year, SmackDown was down 2.9 percent in viewers but up 1.7 percent in 18-49. Other than the Christmas night episode last December, it’s the first time SmackDown has seen a year-over-year increase in the demo since it passed the one-year mark on Fox.
In 18-34, SmackDown was down 7.5 percent year over year.
