Shane “Hurricane” Helms will be working out of the WWE Performance Center for the next two weeks as a guest coach, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He will also be helping out as a backstage agent for upcoming NXT house shows.
Helms, 44, has been in the wrestling business for more than 27 years with more than a decade’s experience working for virtually every major U.S. promotion over the course of his career. He is a three-time Cruiserweight Champion winning both the WCW and WWE version of the title, and a two-time WWE World Tag Team Champion.
Additionally, the Observer is reporting that with WWE’s long-term plan focussing on opening more Performance Centers around the world, they will be looking for experienced trainers. Helms would be a logical fit for a role with the company as he obviously knows the style, knows what WWE is looking for, and is himself a success story of how to get over as smaller character in a time where people his size were not looked at as top stars.
