It appears as if CM Punk and WWE doctor Chris Amann will not be settling their lawsuit out of court, as PWInsider.com is reporting jury selection began yesterday for the case which will go to trial.
The report adds the jury selection was expected to begin on Tuesday of this week but was delayed due to further court filings made by Amann, and a new judge being appointed in the case.
As noted, Amann is seeking more than $1 million in damages from Punk and is also seeking punitive damages.

The case stems from comments made by CM Punk during a tell-all interview on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast, in which Punk accused Amann of placing WWE’s interests above Punk’s health, as well as failing to properly diagnose a staph infection.
In response to Punk’s comments, WWE issued the following statement back in 2015:
“Phil Brooks’ latest claim that WWE directed Dr. Amann to file a lawsuit against Brooks is categorically false. Dr. Amann made the decision to file suit in order to protect his professional reputation. WWE conducted its own investigation into this matter and found no evidence of wrongdoing by Dr. Amann, and thus continues to support Dr. Amann and the staff that runs our world-class medical program.”
With regards to potential settlement talks, PWInsider notes there have been none, and the finality of this case will ultimately come down to the jury’s verdict.
