ROCKWELL BEAT ARDSCOIL Rís 23-13 to lift the Munster Schools Senior Cup at Thomond Park today, denying their Limerick opponents a first-ever title win in the process.
It’s the Tipperary-based school’s 26th cup success and the first time since 2012 that they have triumphed in the competition.
A cagey opening left the score at 3-3 after 30 minutes, with Bill Johnston kicking Rockwell into the lead, but Conor Fitzgerald’s penalty subsequently levelled the scores.
A converted Mikey Wilson gave the Tipp side a 10-3 advantage going in at the break, however another successful kick from Fitzgerald cut Rockwell’s lead to four points.
Two more penalties from Johnston gave his side some breathing space, before a converted Ian Brown try set up a tense finish.
Nevertheless, a converted Brian McLoughlin try late on wrapped up the game for Rockwell and ensured another cup success.
Meanwhile, Royal Belfast Academical Institution beat Wallace High School 14-10 to win the Ulster Schools’ Cup at Kingspan Stadium, denying their Lisburn-based opponents a first title in the process

A Connor Guiney try gave Wallace the lead after 25 minutes, before RBAI captain Lewis McNamara crossed over and TJ Morris converted to give his side a 7-5 half-time lead.
Wallace regained the lead after the break thanks to Max Trouton crossing the whitewash, but Jack Conlin’s converted try ultimately proved pivotal, as RBAI held on to win the cup outright for the 30th time.
