L’Équipe report this morning that Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has arrived in Italy to wrap up a potential deal for Inter defender Milan Škriniar, who the club are looking to bring in six months before the end of his contract with the Nerazzurri.
Of three potential signings this deadline day – Ziyech and a mystery third attacker the other targets – the Slovakian international is the likeliest to come to fruition. Inter had been asking for €80m this summer, but with the centre-back himself confirming he would be joining PSG after rejecting contract renewals from Inter, the Ligue 1 leaders could move for a cut-price deal today to anticipate that move.
PSG had seen their €10m bid turned down last week, with Inter holding out for €20m including bonuses. The French side could be set to put a €15m offer on the table, which would rise to €20m with add-ons. A deal, though, could hinge on Inter finding a replacement, as they look to Atalanta’s Merih Demiral as an option after failing in their attempts to sign Manchester United’s Victor Lindelöf.
