A third NXT announcer has been released from WWE in the past month.
Backstage NXT announcer Alex Reyes was cut from the company this week, reported PWInsider.
The recently-released trio of Reyes, Kyle Edwards (Arda Ocal), and Rich Brennan were hired and subsequently fired because of their wrestling passion, reports Pro Wrestling Sheet.
According to the report, WWE hired them at various points over the past year because of the wrestling knowledge they brought to the table, but WWE soured on them in 2016. All three saw their roles reduced until being cut from the promotion. It’s unclear if other mitigating factors contributed to their individual dismissals.
Reyes confirmed his exit on Twitter, changing his profile to read “former WWE NXT ring announcer.” Reyes simply tweeted “#ThankYou” on Wednesday evening.
