Over the past few weeks, there have been a ton of rumors suggesting that whole bunch of new names will be joining the NXT brand in January. With the Performance Center in Orlando already full, and with even more recruits on the way to the facility, WWE is still not finished taking a look at athletes who believe that they have what it takes to become a WWE Superstar. The company just released a list of the names who will take part in the December 2018 PC tryouts. This does not mean that any of these individuals will be joining WWE, but it is certainly possible that some of these recognizable names could be signed by the company and will start on their WWE careers as members of the NXT brand in 2019.
It was confirmed by PWInsider that rising independent wrestling star Penelope Ford will be one of the names present at the tryouts later this week. The 26-year-old has been working alongside Joey Janela, and she also made an appearance at All In back in September. She also faced Jazz at NWA 70 recently as well. Also confirmed for the tryouts are Courtney Lemmings and Tehuti Miles. They are respectively a volleyball player and former college football player. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that UFC Middleweight fighter Eric Spicely will also be coming to Florida for the tryouts. Expect to see at least one of these names in WWE soon as the tryouts will be taking place at WWE’s training facility this Wednesday.
There is no denying that Ric Flair is one of the greatest legends in the history of the wrestling business, but his days of getting physical in the ring are far behind him now, or are they? During an appearance on fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast, Flair noted that he has actually been cleared to get physical once again by WWE. Flair had a huge health scare last year when he needed surgery to remove an obstruction in his bowels. Fortunately, “The Nature Boy” is said to be in a great place right now, and his doctors have no issue with him taking a few shots in the ring if absolutely necessary. Flair also admitted that he still drinks alcohol occasionally despite his doctors advising him not to drink anymore.
