Two Survivor Series qualifying matches set for WWE SmackDown

The first member of SmackDown’s men’s Survivor Series team was confirmed last night, and two more will be made official on next week’s episode.

Two Survivor Series qualifying matches have been set up for next Tuesday, with Bobby Roode taking on Dolph Ziggler in a two-out-of-three falls match and Kevin Owens facing Shinsuke Nakamura. Randy Orton became the first person to join the team when he defeated Sami Zayn last night, which came after Owens unsuccessfully tried to interfere.

SmackDown’s women’s division team and its captain were made official last night as well. Becky Lynch will captain a team of Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Carmella & Tamina after defeating them in a fatal five-way match.

As was previously noted, there will be two traditional five-on-five elimination tag matches pitting Raw and SmackDown’s men’s and women’s divisions against each other at Survivor Series on November 19th. Alicia Fox was confirmed as the captain of Raw’s women’s team on Monday.

Next week’s SmackDown will also have AJ Styles facing Samir Singh. Jinder Mahal demanded the match for Samir after Styles made quick work of Sunil Singh on SmackDown.
