Mavericks Ranked 10th in D2 Super Region 3

Newberry, S.C. – Minnesota State is ranked tenth in the first release of the D2Wrestling.com coaches poll in Super Region 3. Three Mavericks also received rankings in their respective weight classes.

Division II wrestling is split up into 4 different regions. Fifteen schools represent Super Region 3 with Maryville holding the top ranking. All nine Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schools are in the region with St. Cloud State having the highest ranking at #2.

Scott VanDeLoo (Sr., 184 lbs.) is the highest ranked Maverick at the #3 spot. Alphonso Vruno (Sr., 141 lbs.) is fifth and Malcolm Allen (Sr., 285 lbs.) is sixth. Each weight class has six ranked members from the 15 schools in the region.

VanDeLoo has had a hot start for the Mavericks with a 7-0 record and winning at two opens. Vruno has had competition in one open so far while Allen has competed in two.

NCAA Division II Super Region 3 Poll – December 1, 2015

The National Rankings will be released on Wednesday. Up next for the Mavericks is a trip to the Buena Vista Open in Storm Lake, Iowa on Saturday.
