Tommaso Ciampa avoids serious injury, TakeOver match on as of now

The condition of Tommaso Ciampa is up in the air, but all things considered, the news was positive as X-rays showed he didn’t suffer a broken ankle last night.

During the match in Highland Heights, Kentucky, with Ciampa & Johnny Gargano vs. Alexander Wolfe & Eric Young, Ciampa suffered what appeared to be a left ankle injury about four minutes into the match.

Paul Levesque, on this morning’s WWE conference call, said that Ciampa suffered a sprained ankle and was feeling a lot better today.

He said that as of this moment, the plans for tomorrow night’s Ciampa & Gargano vs. Authors of Pain ladder match in Chicago for the NXT tag team titles are still on. But he said that it’s up to the medical side if they will clear him tomorrow.

Levesque said that right now they don’t have a specific backup plan in place. He noted that both Gargano & Ciampa worked a lot around the Chicago area so the match was a big deal to them and he’d hate for them to miss the opportunity.
