As we have seen over the years, WWE usually releases talent from contract in the first half of the year as new wrestlers come up from NXT and some are released as a cost-containment measure. This year, while many talent have been called up, there hasn’t really been any cuts (except for extenuating circumstances, for example, Enzo Amore).
According to WrestleVotes, the reason for WWE not releasing talents so far this year is because most talents have a 90-day non compete clause built into their deals and the speculation is that the company doesn’t want to let anyone go and have them appear on the September 1 “All-In” show. The company also suggests that if any cuts do happen, look for it to begin after June 4th which would then take the 90-day non compete through the first week of September and prevent any wrestlers from competing at All In.
