The Miz recently spoke with Inside The Ropes about the success of his hit reality series, Miz And Mrs, as well as his ability to help other talents.
On the success of Miz And Mrs:
“Yeah, I didn’t want to do it. When I was on The Real World 18 years ago, it’s basically a reality show and I was 20 years old and I had a blast, but when I got done with the show it felt like everyone looked at us as talentless and you can just live your life on TV. I decided to become a WWE Superstar and now it’s one of those things were time has evolved and everything is a reality show. If you look at Instagram, Twitter, I know what everyone is doing at every minute of the day so, everything is a reality show. It’s more accepted now, but when I was on a reality show it wasn’t a cool thing to do. I thought I get to be an executive producer and I can control what gets presented and it’s something I can be proud of. We want people to sit down and escape their reality and enter ours and just laugh.”
On helping other talents:
“I tell everyone that comes with me to do your thing. When I was looking at Bo and Axel we were filming on Marine 5 and I was watching their work ethic and then every week they are not on TV and I was like, “what are you doing with these guys?” I told them to put them with me because I guarantee that I will do something, I told Bo and Axel who do you want to be, and then be that character.”
