RAW General Manager Kurt Angle provided a major update on the health of his storyline “son” Jason Jordan, who was written off television last week in order to undergo surgery on his neck. While we still don’t have a specific timetable for his return to television, it was announced that he would definitely miss WrestleMania 34.
It’s worth noting that the announcement was made at least partially, if not completely in story. Unless things have changed in the last few days Jordan has not been completely written off WrestleMania for good.
One source indicated to us that the situation is similar to last year at WrestleMania 33 when Seth Rollins re-injured his knee leading up to the show. In that case they still went ahead with the angle as planned, but a backup story was put in place behind the scenes in the event that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete.
The original plan was for Rollins vs. Jordan at this year’s supershow in New Orleans, and we were told that the match is still a possibility if Jordan is cleared. But in the meantime, they are planting seeds to keep the “Kingslayer” on the card no matter what.
