This week’s episode of WWE NXT saw two big matches that were taped ahead of this past weekend’s NXT Takeover: WarGames special. In the first match of the night Ruby Riot took on Sonya Deville, and in the show’s main event Pete Dunne defended the WWE UK Championship against fan-favorite Johnny Gargano in an excellent contest.
As you’ve probably heard by now, both Sonya Deville and Ruby Riot made a huge impact this week, making their main roster debuts on Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live, respectively. Deville, a former Tough Enough competitor, made her presence felt alongside Mandy Rose and the returning two-time Divas Champion Paige, while Ruby Riot led a team of Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan to assault members of the Smackdown women’s division.
