Will Donald Trump’s aggressive midterm campaign blitz be enough to hold onto Congress?

Donald Trump has put himself front and centre of this year’s midterm elections – rounding off months of campaigning with a final six-day blitz leading into today’s vote. 

The US president ended the week with rallies in three different states on Monday as he attempted to boost turnout among Republican voters in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. 

Mr Trump has spent at least 36 days campaigning and fundraising across the country – more than his predecessors President Barack Obama or President George W Bush – in an attempt to keep both chambers of the US Congress in Republican hands.
