Fortnite Leak Points to Destruction of Tilted Towers

By Nick Santangelo

A datamine may have revealed the next area of Fortnite’s map to be affected by story developments. @FNLeak tweeted an alleged bit of Fortnite code that points to the destruction of Tilted Towers.

“The game files now include the explicit mention of destroying Tilted Towers!” FNLeak tweeted Tuesday. The leaker continued: “These lines of text have to do with bots that are configurable in some manner to attack things.”

The datamine seems to indicate that robots packing hand canons, LMGs, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers will bring the towers down.

Epic Games has not released any official information about Titled Towers’ potential destruction, but that hasn’t stopped the Fortnite community from theorizing. One theory is that NPC robots will destroy Titled Towers and that they will look like the A.I.M. Hunting Party skin, a robotic character that has been featured in in-game loading screens throughout Season 6. Some have taken this a step further and guessed that the robots will then serve as Season 7’s PvEvP element by fighting players in Tilted Towers’ ruins.

Still, other fans remain skeptical, as rumors about Tilted Towers’ destruction have been floating around all year and were ultimately fruitless.

In any case, Fortnite’s Season 6 is believed to be ending sometime around December 6. Since major events usually mark the end of one season and the beginning of the next, players should find out shortly whether or not the Titled Towers leak is accurate.

Largely believed to be the most popular game in the world, Fortnite just surpassed 200 million players earlier this week. Epic recently added the limited-time ability to gift items in Fortnite and enabled 60fps support for the newest iPhones.
