LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Lewis University head coach Becky Pearl was the grand-prize winner in the NFCA’s “Power of One” membership drive, which sought to grow the Association by asking each member to get one new person to join before the NFCA National Convention at the New Orleans Marriott.
Pearl’s name was drawn from the received referrals at the Softball Summit on Dec. 9 at the NFCA National Convention. As the winner, she had her choice of two items from a list of five spectacular prizes.
Pearl chose a lifetime NFCA membership and a free trip to the 2017 NFCA National Convention in Las Vegas. The other available choices for the winner were an VIP dinner with two NFCA Hall of Fame coaches at the 2017 Convention, a “Best of Softball” equipment package or Best of Softball” educational package.
“The ONE membership drive helped raise NFCA awareness by asking current members to invite new members,” NFCA Executive Director Carol Bruggeman said. “We want to make sure all fastpitch coaches are aware of the amazing NFCA benefits. We appreciate our members who stepped up and helped grow our membership base. Congratulations to Coach Pearl on winning the grand prize!”
Each time a member got another person to join the NFCA before the Dec. 1 deadline, that referring member received another entry into the contest. There was no limit on the amount of entries an individual could have. During the contest period, the NFCA also selected several random biweekly winners for a special prize pack of Association merchandise.
