It was an unusual scene, and probably unprecedented in the history of India when a senior police officer was seen showering rose petal on a group of Kanwariyas from a helicopter.

It turns out that Additional Director General (Meerut Zone) Prashant Kumar was not alone in the act. In the past few days other UP police officers have also posted photos of them ‘welcoming’ kanwariyas by showering petals on them from the chopper.
