New Update on Chelsea Green/WWE, Next Impact Tapings Announced

One of the most popular female independent wrestlers right now is undoubtedly Chelsea Green. Green made a name for herself as Laurel Van Ness in Impact Wrestling and achieved a lot of success there, but after she left the promotion earlier this year, fans could not help but wonder she is was on her way to WWE. Green did compete on the latest season of WWE’s Tough Enough competition series back in 2015, but she was voted off of the show. However, she did recently attend a tryout session at the WWE Performance Center, and with plenty of spots still open in this year’s Mae Young Classic tournament, fans have been waiting for WWE to officially announce Green’s involvement in the show this August.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, which will become clearer in the next couple of weeks, @ImChelseaGreen is unable to make her scheduled trip to the UK for @chaos_wrestling & IPW.
We are working hard on a replacement however Chelsea sends her deepest apolgies at this time.

Although no confirmation on a possible move to WWE has been made official as of yet, an announcement from UK independent promotion IPW caught the attention of some fans online as they announced that Green had to pull out of her scheduled appearance at their July 22nd show for reasons that “will become clearer in the next couple of weeks.” Green was quick to inform fans that she was simply not able to fly overseas with her work visa this month. Although Green could still be joining WWE eventually, she has confirmed on Twitter that she is still taking independent bookings and will still be appearing at the All In event on September 1st, so it does not look like she will be involved in the Mae Young Classic next month after all.

????????
I am so sorry @IPWUK & @chaos_wrestling … I’ve been excited to come back to the UK all year long. Unfortunately, with my work visa I’m not able to fly overseas this month.
I love you guys! Thank you for understanding ♥? ILL BE BACK. https://t.co/ZSWx1r3rT9

Impact Wrestling has taken steps to reinvent itself and present itself as a totally different promotion ever since they were taken over by Anthem Sports & Entertainment a few years ago, and the promotion still features plenty of incredibly talented members of the roster such as Austin Aries, Eli Drake, and Tessa Blanchard. The next set of television tapings for Impact Wrestling have just been announced recently, and they are set to take place in Toronto on August 12th and 13th. Anthem officials have said that there are plans to take Impact Wrestling international over the next few months, but for right now, it looks like several more of their shows will be taped in the company’s home country of Canada.
