WWE is attempting to make Survivor Series feel like more of an important show this year. They first tried to improve the show last year by promoting a match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg at the event. NXT will be holding a Takeover show before the event with the long-awaited return of the War Games match. It also was reported this week that the company is considering a Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal match for the main event of the show, a first-ever encounter between WWE’s two current world champions. It appears that WWE is planning to have yet another monumental match take place at the event in November as well.
One match that has been rumored for a while now appears to be back on track for November’s pay-per-view. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke, Shayna Baszler, and Marina Shafir are all in the process of learning some basic wrestling training. Rousey is currently training with Brian Kendrick in California, Duke is training at the Santino Bros Wrestling Academy, Shafir is receiving training in Orlando, and Baszler is training at the WWE Performance Center after being signed to a contract a few weeks ago. With all of this in mind, it definitely looks like that rumored Horsewomen vs. Horsewomen match at Survivor Series could come to fruition after all.
It was reported this week that former Cruiserweight Champion Neville was released from WWE. This is supposedly due to some frustrations that he had with WWE’s handling of himself, and he also has hopes to become a bigger star on the independent circuit. During a recent live event from Regina Saskatchewan, Enzo Amore called out the former WWE Superstar before facing Kalisto in a match. He said, “I took care of Cass, then made Neville quit. You’re nothing.” This would seem to confirm that Neville is indeed gone from the company, despite WWE telling some that Neville was still with the promotion.
