It’s all good news for the first night of the Paul Heyman Era.
Viewership for the July 1st edition of Monday Night Raw was up nearly 10% this week; the most watched episode of the show since May 20th.

More importantly, all signs point towards a notable surge in interest once word got out about some of the more shocking segments from Raw‘s wild first hour, including Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley destroying part of the set, the debut of an NXT tag team, and cursing from the commentary team on live television.
The first hour of Raw was watched by 2.47 million viewers, only 3.4% up from last week but still among the best starts of the past two months. The second hour jumped way up 2.68 million viewers, a staggering 15.6% increase from last week, and one of the best hours of Raw since WrestleMania season.
Hour three did fall off some, as has been the case rather consistently all year long. It registered just 2.35 million people. While that unexpected 12.3% drop is definitely something they’re going to want to examine, whether it’s a case of Styles/Ricochet in the main event, or not having enough to hold people over, it was still the second best third hour since mid April.
They key here is obviously, at least in large part, due to the news of Paul Heyman being named the Executive Director of the show, and people having expectations of major changes to the product. Whether they feel that they got those changes, or not, will be the story reflected in next week’s numbers.
