Last night’s AEW Dynamite averaged 1.172 million viewers on TNT, up 20.2 percent from last week. It’s the third-highest viewership total in the history of the show.

The episode featured CM Punk’s first appearance on Dynamite following his AEW debut on last Friday’s Rampage.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.48 rating, up 37.1 percent from the previous week. That was the show’s highest demo number since its premiere in October 2019.

Dynamite led the cable charts in the 18-49 demo by a significant margin, topping second-place Real Housewives by 12.5 percent. In fact, Dynamite was fourth overall on television behind three shows on the main broadcast networks.

The overall audience was up 1.7 percent from Friday’s Rampage show, but Dynamite was down 9.4 percent from Rampage in the 18-49 demo. So, the Friday show skewed a lot younger.

Looking at the other demo numbers, it would appear that the increases were mainly with viewers in the 35-49 age group. Although the 18-49 number was up 37.1 percent from last week, the 12-34 category was actually down. Females 12-34 were even with last week and males 12-34 were down 17.2 percent. In addition, the people 25-54 demo was up 37.5 percent.

The highest gaining demo for Dynamite was with women 18-49, where the show drew a 0.29 rating, up 45 percent from last week. With 12-34 viewership being flat, it’s the 35-49 year old women that carried that demo.

The best demo for AEW was men 18-49, where the show did a 0.67 rating. That topped all of cable and was 67.5 percent higher than the Little League World Series on ESPN, which finished second. For those wondering how that compared to Raw this week, Raw drew a 0.85 in men 18-49.

As compared to one year ago this week, Dynamite was up 41.2 percent in overall viewers and up 65.5 percent in 18-49. The Dynamite episode last year was moved to a Thursday night due to the NBA playoffs, but it still did above average numbers for the time period, making the huge year-over-year increases even more impressive.

As shown in the chart below, Dynamite was up 19 percent in viewership from the show’s last 10 Wednesday night airings. In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite was up 29.7 percent from the recent average.
