Moussa Sissoko hits out at The Sun over energy bills claim

Nantes midfielder Moussa Sissoko took to Twitter on Thursday to put out a statement regarding an article published by The Sun, which was alleging that he was being asked to pay £60,000 after failing to pay energy bills for his London home.

The former French international has indicated that he would be taking legal action over what he says is a story involving a namesake that was then used to “sell paper on my back”.

“You used my name and image for a matter that doesn’t concern me. You have not verified your information and this is causing personal harm to me and my family.”

The ex-Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford man is now at Nantes, having joined Antoine Kombouaré’s team in the summer. Hours after his two tweets regarding The Sun’s article, Sissoko was involved in Les Canaris’ Europa League win over Qarabağ, with substitute Ignatius Ganago sealing the three points with a late winner.
