Archaeologists Unearth 40 Mummies From An Egyptian Burial Chamber That Include 12 Kids And 6 Animals

Ancient Egypt is known for preserving bodies of human beings, called mummies. According to Egyptians, a person transcends into after-life once they have departed from the present world. To make sure that the person goes onto live in the other world, they tend to preserve bodies. The process of preservation is called ‘mummification’.

After placing the decomposed body in a coffin, it would be placed in a tomb. Archaeologists continue to discover excavation sites that are home to mummies. In a latest discovery, Egypt has discovered a number of burial chambers which contain some 40 mummies in the desert province of Minya, south of Cairo.
